The production process uses reactive glaze, which gives each product an individual character and a unique visual effect. Thanks to the hand-decorated edges, each item in the collection is unique. The Sand line stands out with its beige colour, which harmoniously blends with the other shades in the collection, creating a coherent and elegant whole. Porland is the first and only manufacturer to use a special formula with an exceptionally high aluminium oxide content in the porcelain manufacturing process. As a result, Alumilite porcelain combines the durability of hard porcelain with the warm, creamy colour of soft porcelain. This process means that each piece may react differently during firing and glazing, resulting in differences in texture, tone and colour. These are not defects, but characteristics resulting from manual production and the use of natural materials. Zirconium is added to the glaze mixture to achieve the desired colour tone and increase the hardness of the glaze surface. Due to this increased hardness, marks may appear when using metal cutlery such as forks or knives. This does not indicate a reduction in product quality, but is related to the technical properties of porcelain. These marks can be removed every six months on average using a suitable porcelain surface cleaner.
